Brookes Connections Alumni and Supporters Privacy Policy
This Alumni and Supporters Privacy Policy is in annex to the University’s privacy policy (Oxford Brookes Privacy Policy) and applies specifically to information held about alumni, donors and friends of Oxford Brookes University.

Our aim is to enable alumni, supporters and friends of Brookes to stay engaged with the University and with each other, as well as to provide opportunities for alumni and others to support the University.
Your information
Personal data provided by you may be used for a range of activities including marketing, sending publications, offering benefits and services, organising reunions and events, fundraising activity including prospect research and wealth screening, due diligence and other legitimate purposes. By providing your data you consent to the University using your data for these purposes. If, however, you do not want your information to be used for one or any of these purposes, please write to the External Relations Office or email alumni@brookes.ac.uk or see the ‘Your Preferences’ section below for more options.
Your details
We continuously review records of our alumni, supporters and friends to ensure your data is as accurate as possible. We may therefore consult alternative sources to do so, including Royal Mail address files, online directories, newspaper articles, company websites, information you have made available through social media, and other publicly available sources. You can update your details with us either online or by email to alumni@brookes.ac.uk.
Your privacy
Your personal information is held securely by the University and will be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Your personal data will not be shared with others, apart from any details that you choose to share on your online profile. Your data will not be disclosed to external bodies other than those contracted by Oxford Brookes University in order to assist with its routine activities listed above. In these cases we use non-disclosure agreements to ensure the external body is only able to use the information we provide for the specified purpose and nothing else.
Your rights
You have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. One way is to register or login online and you will be able to see your contact details and communication preferences. Alternatively, for a copy of particular personal information we hold about you, please email us at info.sec@brookes.ac.uk.
Your preferences
We may communicate with you by phone, email, social media and post in order to carry out our role in the most cost-effective and efficient way. You can update your communication preferences either by updating your online profile or by emailing us at alumni@brookes.ac.uk.
Service Provider
This service is operated under contract by Aluminati Network Group Ltd. (Aluminati) acting under instruction as our Data Processor under the Data Protection Act 1998. Aluminati will process personal data strictly for the purposes of operating this service.
Aluminati is registered with the Information Commissioner under membership number Z8393842.
